Renault Symbioz : A New Compact Family SUV that Continues the Brand's C- Segment Offensive

  • With a name reflecting Renault's new design language, Symbioz combines driving pleasure with interior space and the efficiency of the E-Tech full hybrid 145 engine.
  • The latest vehicle in  the brand's C-segment offensive, Renault Symbioz joins a range of vehicles that perfectly complement each other and are designed to meet customers’ needs.
  • Renault Symbioz will be revealed in spring 2024.

Symbioz borrows from the French word ‘symbiose’, derived from the ancient Greek ‘symbiosis’, meaning ‘living together’. This is a value deeply rooted in the DNA of Renault, with the brand committed to producing vehicles that completely fulfil the mantra of “cars for living”.

It is a word that is similar in many languages: ‘symbiosis’ in English, ‘simbiose’ in Spanish and ‘simbiosi’ in Italian, making the name Symbioz easy to understand for a wide audience.

Symbioz features the new brand design and is the most compact hybrid in Renault’s C-segment range, measuring 4.41m long. The new SUV’s interior is designed to provide all that a family requires, offering generous amounts of space and loading capacity.\

It complements its practicality with the best technology that Renault has to offer. This includes the new-generation Solarbay panoramic glass roof, which turns opaque at the flick of a switch, and the E-Tech full hybrid 145hp engine. With the Symbioz weighing under 1,500kg, the use of this advanced drivetrain ensures increased driving enjoyment and lower fuel consumption.

Sylvia Dos Santos, Head of Naming Strategy Renault Marketing Division, commented:

“For this new compact family car, we wanted a name with human significance, expressing the close bond between a family and their car. The name Symbioz perfectly illustrates life with our vehicle, a place where passengers are as one with their vehicle and the environment.”

Renault is connected to its customers and keen to meet their many needs, be they private or business users. To this end, the brand offers a range of vehicles that perfectly complement each other in Europe’s C-segment, with both electric and hybrid models available.

Pure electric models within this popular sector are the technology-laden, award-winning Megane E-Tech 100% electric and the new Scenic E-Tech 100% electric, which has raised the bar in the electric family car sector. Symbioz will join Renault’s existing hybrid C-segment offerings, which include the recently-launched premium Austral E-Tech full hybrid and the Arkana E-Tech full hybrid that blends distinctive SUV design with the style of a coupé.
